RICHLAND -- The Columbia Basin Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society will have a discussion and workshop on Gardening/Landscaping with Native Plants in the Columbia Basin.
The meeting will beat 7 p.m. Wednesday, in Room 120 in the Consolidated Information Center building at Washington State University Tri-Cities in Richland.
Long-time members with experience in planting natives in natural and garden settings will participate in a panel to answer questions.

A variety of free how-to clinics will be offered weekends through January at all The Home Depot stores.
Clinics last approximately 30 to 45 minutes each and are taught by experienced Home Depot employees.
The Saturday clinic schedule is:
-- Interior painting: 10 to 11 a.m. today and Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30. You'll learn interior painting techniques and how to protect those places you don't want to paint.
-- Tiling Floors and Walls: 11 a.m. to noon today and Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30. You'll learn how to use a tile cutter. Plus the class will cover the basics of tile selection and how to avoid common mistakes.
-- Closet Organization: 1 to 2 p.m. today and Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30. If your New Year's resolution is to clean out and organize your closet this class is for you.
The Sunday clinic schedule is:
-- Repairing Drywall: 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday and Jan. 10, 17, 24 and 31. You'll learn how, with the right tools and a pinch of patience, you can fix damaged drywall to like-new condition.
Children's clinics are from 9 a.m. to noon on the first Saturday of each month. This month's project is making a calendar. Children must have a parent present, though the child must be able to assemble the project on their own.
