The Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers has selected Dan Carr of Visconti's to be the guest chef for the unity banquet during the group's upcoming February annual meeting, convention and trade show at Kennewick's Three Rivers Convention Center.
Carr and a culinary team will create a multicourse dinner, matched with Washington wines, for more than 400 industry leaders, according to a news release.
"This event is a real showcase for Washington wine and the culinary talent of chefs from throughout the state," said Vicky Scharlau, the association's executive director. "Dan's menu promises to knock your socks off. And the wine won't be too bad either."
The three-day annual convention is expected to draw more than 2,000 growers and wineries from around the Northwest.

Visconti's of Wenatchee and Leavenworth have received the Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence for 15 years. Since 2000, Visconti's has carried only Washington and Italian wines.
