Oyster lovers will be beating a path to Newport, Ore., on Saturday.
That's the date of Oyster Cloyster, a fundraiser for the Aquarium Science Program at Oregon Coast Community College and the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
The event includes a chefs' cooking competition and a variety of shellfish and seafoods to snack on, along with Northwest wines and beer from Rogue Ale.
Oyster Cloyster runs from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the aquarium, 2820 Southeast Ferry Slip Road, Newport.
Admission is $75 per person and tickets are available at oystercloyster.org or by calling 541-867-4931. Food and nonalcoholic beverages are included.
