Check out the latest in kitchen appliances and sample some of the foods created by some of the Tri-Cities' top chefs at the third-annual Chefs on Parade event in September.
Chefs on Parade, presented by the Home Builders Association of Tri-Cities as part of the Parade of Homes, will be Sept. 12-13 and tickets are available now.
Each night, six Mid-Columbia chefs will serve food samples at selected homes on the tour. While checking out the new houses, you'll be able to chat with the builders of each home while gleaning culinary tips from the chefs.
Tickets for the Chefs on Parade are $40 -- and includes admission to the houses on the Parade of Homes. They can be reserved at www.hbatc.com. Or call 735-2745 or at the Home Builders Association office, 10001 Clearwater Ave., Kennewick.
Tickets can be picked up at the HBA office after Sept. 3.
The Tree Top Skewered Apple BBQ Championship is Sept. 7-8 in Selah.
Grillmasters from the West and Canada will compete for up to $25,000 in prize money.
Watch the cookoff and enjoy cooking demonstrations, live music and a beer and wine garden. The event is at Tree Top, 220 E. 2nd Ave., Selah.
Hours are from 4 to 11 p.m. Sept. 7 and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 8. Admission is $10 for both days; children 12 and under are free.
