Those who enjoy wine tasting likely will want to head for Revelry on Red Mountain during the Memorial Day weekend. Revelry is a series of events -- including a wine tasting, a vineyard walking tour and a farm-to-table luncheon -- involving several wineries and vineyards in the Mid-Columbia.
On May 25, visit with 24 winemakers while sipping their vintages outdoors and nibbling on gourmet snacks at Col Solare Winery, 50207 Antonori Road, Benton City. The tasting runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and costs $95 per person.
On May 26, go for a vineyard walking tour and get an up-close-and-personal look at the terroir, technique and vines at Kiona Vineyards & Winery, 44612 N. Sunset Road, Benton City. Jim Holmes of Ciel du Cheval vineyard will assist on the tour.
Afterwards join Charlie Hoppes at Fidelitas, 51810 N. Sunset Road, Benton City, for a farm-to-table lunch and a comparison tasting.
The walk and luncheon run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and only are open to those who attend the Saturday event.
Cost for both events is $195 per person.

WALLA WALLA -- Ian Davidson, a junior at Walla Walla High School, was the winner in a culinary competition held May 10 at the high school.
The cooking contest was part of The Cutting Edge Tour -- Seeking America's Top Teen Chef, a promotion for the National Restaurant Association's Pro-Start program. It teaches high school students hospitality and culinary arts, giving them skills they can use in life and encouraging a career in the hotel/restaurant industry.
The event was judged and filmed by Food Network Chopped Chef Maneet Chauhan.
Davidson, who competed against two fellow Walla Walla high school culinary students, received a seven-piece knife set from the Food Network as his prize. He also is eligible to win a trip to Washington, D.C.
The Food Network is holding cooking competitions at 16 other schools across the nation. At the end of the tour, Davidson's score and those of the other 16 winners will be compared and the youthful chef with the highest score will win the trip. The winning chef will spend a day cooking with chefs at the White House.
The winner will be announced on Saturday.
