Saturday has been named National Wine Tourism Day by the industry. It's a concept that emigrated from Europe. They have been celebrating their vintages and all related industries since 2009.
In America, as in Europe, there will be special dinners, entertainment and other events to acknowledge the role wine plays in the economy.
Closer to home, several Yakima Valley wineries, restaurants, hotels and other wine tourism business are offering a variety of specials this Saturday.

Tea and cakes
The Kennewick Senior Center will hold its 20th annual High Tea Social from 1:30 to 3 p.m. May 22. The center is in Keewaydin Park, 500 S. Auburn St.
All ages are welcome. Cost is $8.50, and seating is limited.
