Saturday is a special day for the Pasco Farmers Market. It's the season opener and the market's 25th anniversary.
To celebrate, The Downtown Pasco Development Authority, which oversees the market, has organized music and dancing from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The market is held under the shelters in the parking lot at West Columbia Street and South Fourth Avenue.
Vendors will be set up and selling a wide variety of produce, baked goods, plants, cheeses, honey, pepper blends and rubs, fresh eggs and crafts from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
The market's food court will feature breakfast waffles, panini sandwiches, gourmet barbecue, tacos and lattes.
Regular market hours are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesdays through October.

Dancing and dinner
SUNNYSIDE -- The H. A. Reinhold Knights of Columbus Council No. 14926 is holding its third annual dinner dance on Saturday at the St. Joseph Parish Activity Center in Sunnyside.
A social hour is from 6 to 7 p.m.
Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The menu includes prime rib, appetizers, roasted potatoes, steamed vegetables, salad, dessert, and two beverages of your choice (beer, wine or water).
There also will be a silent auction and a drawing.
Dancing will be from 8:30 to 11 p.m. to a mix of country, rock and roll and tejano music.
