1/4 cup Nutella
4 slices brioche or challah bread
1 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup orange marmalade fleur de sel or another coarse salt
12 hazelnuts, toasted, skins rubbed off and coarsely chopped or crushed
Never miss a local story.
Turn on the broiler. Line a baking sheet or broiler pan with aluminum foil.
Put Nutella in a microwavable bowl. Heat for about 15 seconds, just until softened and warmed.
Brush one side of each slice of bread with melted butter. Put the bread, buttered side up, on the baking sheet. Broil the bread until the tops are golden.
Spread marmalade over hot bread. Using the tines of a fork, generously drizzle with warm Nutella. Top sparingly with fleur de sel, then sprinkle with hazelnuts.
Nutrition information per serving: 475 calories, 25g fat, 12 grams saturated fat, 105 milligrams cholesterol, 9 grams protein, 55 grams carbohydrates, 27 grams sugar, 2 grams fiber, 260 milligrams sodium and 55 milligrams calcium.
