It's November, the eating-est month of the year. In celebration of the approaching Thanksgiving holiday, we'll spend the month offering up recipes that would make nice, change-of-pace additions to your big meal. Today's recipe comes from the food blog seriouseats.com.
12 ounces fresh cranberries
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons dried currants
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup Champagne, or other sparkling wine
Pour the champagne into a medium pot and add the sugar and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Dump in the cranberries and currents, bring back to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes.
Remove and let come to room temperature.
