Imagine being hard at work, focused on the task at hand, when you find out there's a very cute new colleague in the building. That's exactly what happened at the Tito's Handmade Vodka office, and the employees' reactions are exactly what you'd expect.

The Golden Retriever puppy's name is Wilbur, and he's the newest member of the legal team. When he made his big debut his coworkers couldn't wait to meet him. He had been fostered by one of the company's lawyers, and when she officially adopted him, the entire office was more than happy to welcome him to the team. You can see their reactions here.

Tito's wrote, "Meet Wilbur: once a foster, now officially part of our legal team." But judging by the reactions, he belongs to the whole office now.

Why Dogs in the Workplace Boost Morale

Of course, viewers had a lot to say about the employee reactions to Tito's new office mascot. @The Goodest Golden shared, "Everyone went home and said: 'I saw a dog today!'" while another summed it up perfectly, "Office Therapy Dog!"

@Lolo shared, "I firmly believe EVERY office should have an emotional support puppy. But you have to keep getting more puppies so they stay little."

There's a reason everyone was so excited to meet Wilbur. Having dogs in the workplace can brighten the mood and offer a welcome break during stressful moments. Research from Spring Arbor University found that both pet parents and employees without pets reported lower stress levels and higher job satisfaction when animals were present, something that can also lead to increased productivity.

It can also impact employee retention. The same research found that more than half of employees in non-pet-friendly workplaces said they'd be more likely to stay with a company if they were allowed to bring their pets to work.

But not all employees are fans of having dogs in the workplace, so it's important that the company has a clear, structured pet policy in place. Experts recommend having a clear, structured pet policy in place, including a trial period, to make sure the arrangement works for both employees and their four-legged coworkers.
