Sharon and Ted Skinner of Pasco celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary March 7 at Cedar's Restaurant in Kennewick with friends.
They were married Feb. 28, 1959, in Springfield, Ore. They moved to the Mid-Columbia 22 years ago from San Diego, Calif.
Sharon worked as a telephone operator, executive secretary, office manager and a lead secretary. She retired in July 2005 from the Washington State Department of Corrections. She has been a church pianist and involved in various music groups and gospel quartets in southern California. She is a pianist for Joyful Noise in Mabton.
Ted worked for the San Diego Police Department, as a truck driver and for the Washington State Patrol. He retired in July 2005 from the state patrol. He also sang in and managed gospel quartets in Southern California.

They co-founded The New Covenant Quartet. They are members of the Church of God in Pasco and the AFL-CIO. Ted is a member of the Teamsters Union of San Diego and Washington.
They have three children, Valerie Feth of Benton City, Kevin Skinner of Tucson, Ariz., and Brian Skinner of Lakeside, Calif.
They have nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
