-- Cassandra Brazell has been awarded a Trustees Scholarship for $3,000 for the 2013-14 academic year at Eastern Washington University. This scholarship is awarded to a continuing EWU student who has maintained a grade-point average of 3.8 or higher.
She graduated from Southridge High School in 2012. At EWU, she is the Eagle Ambassador Club president, university tour guide and a peer adviser. She is a junior studying communications in public relations.
She is the daughter of Craig Brazell of Kennewick and Loraine Gallagher of Auburn.
-- Taylor Storaci has been awarded a Dean's Scholarship for $2,000 for the 2013-14 academic year at Eastern Washington University.
Taylor graduated from Pasco's Chiawana High School in June. He participated with the theatre program for four years and was in the leadership class for two years. He plays bass in the Even Egerer band. He plans to study computer science at EWU.
He is the son of David and Nicole Storaci of Pasco.
-- Bethany McClendon has been awarded a Dean's Scholarship for $2,000 for the 2013-14 academic year at Eastern Washington University.
She graduated from Richland's Hanford High School in June. She participated in DECA, Link Crew and Key Club. She is doing an internship at a dentist's office. She plans to study dental hygiene at EWU.
She is the daughter of Glen and Annette McClendon of Richland.
-- Lydia Marshall has been awarded a Woodville Hagelin Scholarship for $225 for the 2013-14 academic year at Eastern Washington University. This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior that is a health education major who has demonstrated academic merit.
She graduated from Richland High School in 2012. At EWU, she is the treasurer for the community health club, a youth group member at St. Paul's and a volunteer at Planned Parenthood. She is a junior studying community health at EWU.
She is the daughter of Thomas Marshall of Benton City.
-- The Pasco Education Foundation recently announced that students from Pasco, Chiawana and Delta High schools received more than $49,000 in scholarships.
Tobius Jimenez Jr. received $8,000; Christina Villanueva received $4,000; and Masooda Zarifi, Megan Rocha and Magda Vazquez-Lua each received $2,000.

-- The Kennewick General Hospital Foundation has awarded scholarships to four local students pursuing health-related careers.
The $1,000 scholarship recipients are: Michelle Fletcher, a recent Kamiakin High School graduate who plans to attend Northwest Christian University in Eugene and study biology and pre-med; and Breanna Lyons, a recent Southridge High School who plans to study health sciences at Whitworth University in Spokane.
The $2,000 scholarship recipients are: Sangeetha Thevuthasan, a recent Kamiakin graduate who plans to study biomedical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta; and Luis Montoya, a student at Columbia Basin College and Washington State University Tri-Cities, who's pursuing a nursing degree.
