Arelene and Arthur Martin Sr. celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Feb. 18 with a family dinner at Cafe at Queensgate in Richland.
They met while both working for General Electric in 1951. They were married on Feb. 22, 1952, at the Latter-day Saints Church in Richland.
Arelene moved to Richland from Scappoose, Ore., going to work for General Electric. She retired from Kennewick Irrigation in 1992. She enjoys playing tennis and going to their cabin in the Packwood area.
Art moved to Richland from Idaho Falls, Idaho. After graduating from Columbia High School in 1950, he went to work for General Electric. He served in the Army for two years and worked for various companies before retiring from Westinghouse Hanford in 1989. Art enjoys golf and going to the cabin.
They enjoyed many years of traveling in their motorhome and wintering in Mesa, Ariz.
They have two children, Pattie Blakeman of Kennewick and Arthur "Marty" Martin Jr. of Richland.
They have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
