Carol and Paul Hatch of Pasco will celebrate 50 years of marriage May 5. They were married at the Logan, Utah, Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on May 5, 1960.
They will have a family dinner celebration May 1 at Anthony's in Richland.
Paul served a two-year mission in Canada for his church. He was then called to serve his country in the Army during the Korean War. After the war Paul returned to Utah and graduated from Utah State University in 1959 with a civil engineering degree. He worked for Thiokol Chemical and was on the team responsible for the development of the Minute Man Rocket.
They moved from Logan to the Tri-Cities in 1965. He worked for Hanford as a civil engineer for several years before retiring. He and Carol also farm land northeast of Pasco and are very active in local farmers markets.
Carol graduated from Salt Lake City LDS Business College in 1959. She was an executive secretary for Thiokol Chemical while in Utah.
Their children are Blake of Pasco; Starlie of Highland, Utah; Michael of Pasco; Bonnie of Pasco; Cynthia of Salt Lake City, Utah; Daniel of Pasco; Dean of Richland and Jessica is deceased. They have 24 grandchildren.
