Modesty best policy

In the article "Mormon muffins get their own calendar" (Oct. 27), I am entirely disgusted with those so-called "Mormon mothers." The story states that Tami Roberts, Miss May, has three daughters, and attends The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and is raising her kids with Mormon values. What a great example of Mormon values!

As a 14-year-old Mormon boy, if I saw my mother looking like that I would be totally embarrassed to even show my face at church, let alone at school. Has she ever heard the expression "teach by example"? What do you think her daughters think when they see their mom on the calendar dressed like she is?

As Mormons, we believe in being modest and her skimpy low-cut, sleeveless, spaghetti strap tank top is way far from being modest. We are also strongly advised of staying away from vulgar, immoral, violent and pornographic images or anything that draw attention to any of those things. Tami said, "I just don't think it is a big deal." If people didn't think it was that big of a big deal they wouldn't have excommunicated Chad Hardy and taken away his diploma from Brigham Young University. So think again.
