The Preamble to the Constitution speaks of the only legitimate purposes of government as "providing for the common defense, promoting the general welfare and securing liberty to ourselves and our posterity." This administration doesn't seem to understand its primary duty! Or does it intend the havoc it is wreaking?
While financial parasites are rewarded with taxpayer-funded bailouts, and outrageous bonuses are paid to those who created the mess through gambling, real productive skilled labor is being down-sized -- laid off -- 7,000 per day. About 1.3 million will lose their unemployment benefits by year end!
Americans are conditioned to react like rats in a maze. The unwashed can't possibly understand the brilliance of dictators like Timothy Geithner and Ben Bernanke. Wrong! They understand that crooks are being rewarded!
We must return to a nation-serving policy of employment of our skilled labor to manufacture the shoes, textiles, machinery, metals, etc., we need. Long-term (25-50-year), low-interest Constitutionally authorized credit (1-2 percent interest) can finance this U.S. industrial expansion.
