closeGlobal warming is either a hoax or sloppy science -- or both. It may prove to be the final event that drives our country into hyperinflation, bankruptcy or both.
Instead of being a settled issue, competent scientists, especially in the field of atmospheric physics, are currently presenting strong evidence that carbon dioxide is not the primary culprit. I cannot fully explain in 200 words the primary cause of periodic Earth warming. However, many technical articles suggest the fundamental cause is related to sunspots.
Sunspots are a cyclic phenomenon, which occur when the sun produces enormous eruptions of extremely hot gases on its surface, with a significant increase in heat output. This sets off a chain of events resulting in diminished cloud cover of the Earth's surface, further resulting in increased temperatures.
Admittedly this is an oversimplification, but detailed sunspot/ Earth temperatures over many years show a nearly exact correlation. Ironically, atmospheric CO2 content seems to be the result rather than the cause of Earth warming. Space prevents detailed explanation of why this is so.
As a parting shot, I'd like to point out that during the past several years CO2 in the atmosphere has steadily increased, but Earth's temperatures have started to cool, while sunspots have decreased to nearly zero.
