Shortfalls seem to happen because government likes to spend more than it has. But officials look at the taxpayer as a horn of plenty or a bottomless pit. If they run out, just get more taxes.
Let's look at Kennewick. They claim a $1.6 million shortfall. They wouldn't have that if they would stop building roundabouts at $300,000 a pop. They could get their money back from the merry-go-round. The Toyota Center is not standing on its own so they support it with a million. The convention center is not standing on its own so that is supported with taxes. If these facilities can't support themselves, they need to be shut down. Stop agreeing to a project every time someone gets a wild hair. They want to see the airport go so they can reap more taxes so they can spend more.
Hopefully we can get all new blood on the council and change all the waste that goes on.
