West Richland races

In some well-managed civil organizations, fire code interpretations are made by fire department personnel trained and experienced in interpreting fire codes. In West Richland, the agreement with Benton County Fire District No. 4 for fire code interpretation was terminated by Mayor Dale Jackson.

Mayor Jackson took no action to ensure this responsibility remained with the fire code authority. West Richland city police staff are now responsible for fire code interpretation. West Richland Councilman Mark Hanneman defended Mayor Jackson by dismissing the public safety impact and accusing the fire district of political motivation for wanting the responsibility.

If you are an undecided West Richland voter, call candidate for mayor Donna Noski and call candidate for council Richard Bloom to find out if you think Noski and Bloom have the better approach for improving West Richland public safety. Also ask them about any other West Richland political issues on your mind, including those covered in this paper.
