I have to say that I am extremely happy to see so many candidates running for local offices this year, particularly in the Kennewick City Council and Port of Kennewick races.
One of the biggest issues seems to be Vista Field -- do we close it or not? Until I spoke to Jeff Losey, who is a candidate for the Port of Kennewick Commission, I had no idea what the big deal was. Now I believe the same thing that Jeff believes -- that Vista Field needs to remain an airport. He bases his opinion on the current data that proves it is simply too costly to shut down and that there is not enough economic benefit, even long term, in doing so.
In addition, Jeff has shown me that our region needs this airport -- and that if it is shut down, we taxpayers just may end up paying for another one down the road. Vista Field has brought business and development to Kennewick and our entire region.
If you want to help make sure that Vista Field stays open, then you must vote for Jeff Losey for Port of Kennewick commissioner, District 3.
