Family Resource Center of Tri-Cities will have an open house for its new facility May 8-9.
The event at 3221 W. Kennewick. Ave. will feature a Mother’s Day bazaar, with vendors selling flowers and gifts to raise money for the agency. It runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. The agency moved into the space in March, but must still make improvements to it.
Family Resource Center is trying to get official state and federal nonprofit status so it can qualify for grant money. Until it can get grants, the agency has to rely on donations.
It recently was able to lease the new office space, but is now running out of operating money, said board member Randy Grady. It is also looking for volunteers and accepting donations of gently used items, including furniture, though people are asked to call before they bring items by.
