The Eastern Oregon Arts Festival is planned May 8-9 in downtown Hermiston.
The event “is a celebration of spring and all things new and creative in our region,” said Phyllis Shovelski, festival co-chairwoman, in a news release. “It is the goal of the arts festival and its sponsoring organization, Deserts Arts Council, to create more involvement in the arts and to help build a vibrant arts community in the region.”
The festival includes an art show, metal arts and gardening demonstrations, live music and entertainment, food and wine, booths with handmade jewelry, ceramics, photos, prints and paintings for sale, kids activities and artist presentations. More information: www.desertartscouncil.com.
