A recreation of a 1930s radio broadcast will be part of a public forum on the future of radio April 25 at Washington State University Tri-Cities in Richland.
The program, “Evergreen Radio LIVE: Past, Present and Community,” is aimed at starting conversations about how radio has served communities and how it might in the future. It also will be the inaugural event for the Northwest Hall of Radio History.
Ricardo Garcia of KDNA, Jeff Hansen of KUOW, Tom Mara of KEXP, Dave Ross of KIRO, Kerry Swanson of Northwest Public Radio and LPFM advocate Sabrina Roach will be part of a panel discussion. The 1930s radio performance will include actors from the Seattle Radio Theatre.
Statewide nonprofit Humanities Washington is supporting the event, which is free and open to the public. It starts at 7 p.m. in the East Building auditorium at WSU Tri-Cities’ Richland campus.
