Lakeside Gem and Mineral Club’s annual rock show is April 18-19 at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick.
The show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 18 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 19.
Cost is $5. Children younger than 14 are admitted for free with an adult.
Vendors will be on hand selling mineral specimens, fossils, jewelry, beads, gemstones and specialized equipment, and displays and demonstrations are planned, along with activities for kids.
“Our show attracts hundreds of visitors every year, and it is especially informative for younger rock hounds who enjoy learning about all the different kinds of gems and minerals,” said Larry Hulstrom, past president of the club, in a news release.
Information about Lakeside’s junior rock club, which meets monthly in Kennewick, also will be available.
A tail-gating swap meet will run from 8 a.m. to noon April 19, with members of the Lakeside Gem and Mineral Club and Northwest Federation of Mineralogical Societies selling their treasures in the parking lot.
