The Canadian “new classical” group Quartetto Gelato will perform April 10 in Pasco as part of the Community Concerts of the Tri-Cities series.
The performance is at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Faith Assembly, 1800 N. Road 72.
The quartet provides “a unique blend of sparkling technique, musical finesse and humor. Their instrumental program is classical in intent, but eclectic by design. They include traditional masterworks, operatic arias, tangos and more,” a news release said.
Quartetto Gelato‘s musicians play a range of instruments, from violin, cello, oboe and English horn to accordion, piano and mandolin.
The group formed in the 1990s and has performed all over the world. Its music has even been played in space, as Canadian astronaut Robert Thirsk took two of the group’s albums aboard a space shuttle flight.
Cost for the performance is $25 for adults and $15 for students at the door. Season subscriptions also are available.
