Strong winds carrying a large amount of dust are forecast for Kennewick from 10 p.m. Friday to noon on March 28.
Blowing dust is likely with sustained southwest winds about 20 mph and gusts up to 35 mph, said the Washington Department of Ecology.
If you are caught in a dust storm, the state recommends:
• Stay indoors, close your windows and set your air system to recirculate.
Never miss a local story.
• If driving where there’s limited visibility, pull over.
• If working outside, use a dust mask, N95 or N100.
• Cover your nose and mouth with a damp handkerchief.
