Aarun Carter picked up the fiddle before she hit preschool.
She won the Colorado State Small Fry Division at 4 years old and snagged the prize for “youngest fiddler” at the National Old Time Fiddlers Contest, a news release said. Now, she holds five Colorado state champion titles and was the 2011 National Young Adult Champion.
She’ll perform in Pendleton on March 28, along with guitarist Jonathan Trawick.
The duo plays roots/Americana music. The show is at 7 p.m. at Pendleton Center for the Arts. Cost is $10.

Trawick also fell in love with music early. His father and grandfather both were Arkansas state fiddle champions and he played himself, before switching to Western swing guitar, the release said
Carter and Trawick recently released Deep End Sessions, Vol. 1, inspired by the first country music recording in 1922, the release said.
