A Walla Walla company has applied to operate a recreational marijuana retail store in Walla Walla, and the application is expected to be processed and vetted early next year.
Tangletown Holdings filed its application with the state Liquor Control Board.
Walla Walla city staff believe the proposed location of 927 W. Main St. appear to comply with the permanent zoning regulations adopted by the city council.
The city anticipates the applicant will submit a formal application to the city for a required conditional use permit. The conditional use permit process provides for staff analysis based on detailed application materials to ensure a full review of potential impacts that could be mitigated with specific permit conditions.
“As the application moves forward citizens will have an opportunity to provide comment on it as well as participate in the public hearing before the hearing examiner,” City Manager Nabiel Shawa said.
After receiving the formal conditional use permit application, city staff expects to process the application in early 2015.
