The Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society invites the public to take part in a bird walk starting at 8 a.m. Dec. 6 on Bateman Island, off Columbia Park Trail at the west end of Columbia Park.
The walk is about two miles and will take about 1 1/2 hours. Participants can meet at Wye Park above the causeway to Bateman Island and should bring binoculars and wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing. Extra binoculars will be available for those who don’t have any.
Some of the birds that may be seen include raptors, yellow-rumor warblers, scaups, tundra swans, owls, grebes, belted kingfisher, hermit thrush, common loon and fox sparrow.
There is no charge to participate.
