The Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties is “evaluating internally” a proposed $14,000 donation by a Prosser marijuana farmer, the group’s executive director said.
Grower Randy Williams initially offered the money from the sale of a low-grade marijuana strain at a pot auction last month to the Prosser School District. That offer was rejected.
Williams operates Fireweed Farms in Prosser and held the state’s first-ever marijuana auction on Nov. 15.
Brian Ace, the local Boys & Girls Clubs executive director, said his group received the donation offer but declined to answer other questions, including when the organization might make a decision.
