The city of Richland’s Winterfest festivities are from 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Uptown Shopping Center in Richland. There will be holiday shopping and other activities throughout the day, such as drawings, caroling by the Central United Protestant choir, and holiday movies at the Richland Players Theatre.
Winterfest continues from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Richland Community Center, with bingo, kids crafts, games, photo booth, caroling and the a model railroad display. At 7:15 p.m., there will be a warming fire at Howard Amon Park while spectators await the lighted boat parade, which features more than a dozen boats chugging up the Columbia River from Clover Island in Kennewick to Richland.
On Dec. 6, the model railroad display will be open from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the community center. Santa arrives at 2 p.m. at the Uptown Shopping Center. There will be music at John Dam Plaza starting at 3:30 p.m., featuring the CW Mojo Marimba Band, the Richland High Choir and the Hanford High drum line. At 4 p.m., Santa arrives, and the Christmas tree lighting happens at 4:15 p.m.
There will be an ugly sweater contest, visits with Santa, bounce house at the community center from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. From 6 to 8 p.m., there will be musical performances by the Mid-Columbia Mastersingers, Sweet Adelines and Chordsmen. The warming fire will be lit from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. as visitors wait for the lighted boat parade.
There is no admission fee to any of the events.
