Dayton will hold its annual holiday kickoff festival is Nov. 28-29 in the downtown area.
Festivities include a lighted parade down Main Street at 6 p.m. Nov. 28 and daylong open houses at various downtown establishments both days. The annual Christmas Market at the Depot festival is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 29 at the historical depot in downtown Dayton, 222 E. Commercial St., where local foodstuffs, handmade candy, local honey and local artworks in jewelry, pottery and other handcrafted items will be sold. A fireworks show is at 7 p.m. each night.
A live Nativity scene is from 4 to 5 p.m. Nov. 28, and a Santa workshop for the kids is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 28 and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 29.
