The Mid-Columbia Mastersingers perform its Dia de la Raza concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 and at 3 p.m. Oct. 12 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, at the corner of 10th Avenue and Olympia Street in Kennewick.
The Mastersingers will perform the concert again at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at Walla Walla University Church in College Place.
Tickets cost $20 in advance or $22 at the door. Students are free.
The Dia de la Raza title is a reference to Columbus Day and the complex history of its observance in the Americas. The music includes works by living composers such as Javier Busto from Spain, Z. Randall Stoope from the U.S., Vangelis from Greece and James MacMillan from Scotland.
Songs will be sung in English, Spanish and Latin, with a few sung a capella and others accompanied by guest organist Kraig Scott of Walla Walla.
