A class on how to make the perfect pie crust will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 19 Northwest Regional Food Hub, 603 Goethals Ave., Richland. The class, taught by Char Engels, features a demo of how to make pie crust using two different methods, and will include a discussion of the food science and lots of 'how-to' tips. The class will also include taste testing samples of bad, better, and best pie crusts. Cost is $15 and includes class materials and a slice of fresh baked pie during class. Preregistration at the NW Regional Food Hub is required. Engels has more than 10 years culinary experience in both professional and volunteer settings.
