KENNEWICK -- The state Department of Health suspended the license of a Tri-City certified nursing assistant, Carleen J. Grawl, after she allegedly failed to prevent abuse of vulnerable adults in her care.
Grawl was charged with unprofessional conduct earlier this year based on findings by the Department of Social and Health Services that Grawl had been told a caregiver's child was assaulting adults living in the Silver Fern Home in Kennewick, state documents said.
Grawl was the owner and licensed provider for the adult family home, documents said.
The child reportedly was pinching residents and hitting them with fists or a plastic bat, and the charges claim Grawl failed to take any action to prevent the assaults.

Grawl's license was suspended for five years after she failed to respond to the charges.
