In a cross-over game between the Greater Spokane League and the Columbia Basin Big Nine, the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups traveled to Richland to take on Richland Bombers at Fran Rish Stadium.
Gonzaga Prep entered the game as the No. 6 ranking in Class 4A with a 7-2 record, while Richland carried an 8-1 record. Richland's defense keyed on G-Prep running back Bishop Sankey, who committed to play at Washington State University.
Sankey rushed for 153 yards on 33 carries, but 57 of those yards came on one third-quarter carry, which accounted for G-Prep's only score. He also fumbled a first-quarter punt that lead to Richland's first TD.
Meanwhile, Richland's running back tandem of Jake McKinney and B.K. Robinson produced 203 yards and two TDs on 35 attempts. And the Bombers got a critical third-down conversion on a scramble by quarterback Colter Quick.
Richland went on to a 21-7 victory, and the Bombers now will travel to Spokane on Friday to face No. 3 Ferris.
