Tri-City cops will be helping serve creamy fettuccine alfredo, manicotti or spaghetti and meatballs tonight and hoping to raise money for Christmas gifts for needy families.
Tips for Santa's Kids, sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police Tri-Cities Lodge No. 7 and local law enforcement, will run from 5 to 8 p.m. at Olive Garden in Kennewick.
Officers will be helping servers at the restaurant and collecting extra tips toward this year's Christmas Families funds and the annual Shop with a Cop program.
For more than 13 years, local law enforcement agencies have been helping children and families have a merrier holiday season with the special shopping event and sponsoring families in need, officials said.
