Voice of the Mid-Columbia | Kennewick, Pasco and Richland, Wash. |
A benefit concert for Mailia Goforth will start at 7 p.m. Friday at Central United Protestant Church in Richland.
Goforth is a 15-year-old Franklin County resident who has Eisenmenger's syndrome, secondary pulmonary hypertension because of a large hole in her heart.
Her family is trying to raise money so that she can get an experimental stem cell treatment not covered by insurance.
The concert will feature bands Brazen Layver and Run From Cover. Doors to the church's lounge open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free; donations will be accepted during the concert. All proceeds benefit the Mailia's Miracle fund.
The family created a website, mailiasmiracle.com.
They also have an account at HAPO Community Credit Union where donations can be made to Mailia's Miracle fund.
