Benton PUD to discuss rates at meeting today

Benton PUD is holding a rate information meeting at 6 p.m. today. The meeting will be in the auditorium at Benton PUD's 10th Avenue headquarters in Kennewick. The public utility will provide customers with information on issues that could affect rates in the coming years.

The increase in wholesale power rates from Bonneville Power Administration, decreases in certain revenues and increased costs for renewable power affect customer rates in 2010 and future years, a release from Benton PUD states.
