Child ID kits available today in Richland

By the Herald staff

Free child identification kits will be available today at a Richland grocery store.

Richland police and the Richland Albertsons have teamed up to put on the child fingerprint/identification event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the store at 1320 Lee Blvd.

Parents can pick up a free fingerprinting kit to take home, and kids will be given papers to color and return to the store for display and a chance to win a free healthy eater's tote.

Officer Erica Tungesvik, the police department crime prevention officer, also will be there with games and prizes for children.

"Helping kids and families stay safe has always been a priority to the Richland Police Department," Tungesvik said.
