Former pro football player Clint Didier will be guest speaker at a Benton County Republican Party dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Didier announced at a Tea Party rally Sept. 12 that he planned to form an exploratory committee to pursue a run for the Senate.
He's a former tight end for the Washington Redskins and Green Bay Packers, who played in three Super Bowls in the 1980s and earned two championship rings.
He grew up in Eltopia and played for Connell High School, Columbia Basin College and Portland State University before going to the National Football League.
He now coaches for Connell High School and runs an alfalfa hay farm and an earth-moving business.
The dinner costs $30 and is at The Country Gentleman in Kennewick.
