Veterans and a number of youth groups and bands are expected to participate Saturday in the annual Regional Veterans Day parade in West Richland.
The West Richland Area Chamber of Commerce puts on the parade, which starts at 9:30 a.m. and goes along West Van Giesen Street. An awards ceremony and chili feed, sponsored by Combat Veterans International, will follow the parade in Flat Top Park.
The U.S. and state Veterans Affairs departments have designated the West Richland event as a Veterans Day Regional Site. This year's grand marshal is veterans advocate Steve Prince.
Among the veterans groups expected to participate are VFW posts from West Richland, Richland and Kennewick; Combat Veterans International; Marine Corps League; World War II Merchant Marines and Navy Armed Guard; Inland Empire Submarine Veterans and American Legion Riders.
Local military youth groups, bands and other youth organizations and local car clubs also plan to be in the parade, according to organizers. Businesses or organizations interested in participating can enter by calling the West Richland chamber at 967-0521.
