A 26-year-old Walla Walla man was arrested for allegedly stabbing another man during an argument.
The stabbing was reported at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday when the victim arrived at St. Mary Medical Center for treatment, Walla Walla police Lt. Tim Bennett said.
The victim, Ryan E. Reesman, 37, of Walla Walla, said he was at a friend's house when he got into an argument with the friend's roommate who wanted Reesman to leave, Bennett said.
Reesman suffered a collapsed lung from the wound, Bennett said.
Officers weren't able to get additional information from him because of his condition, but were able to interview him later Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators determined the assault occurred at 714 Clark St., and contacted the two residents the following morning.
Nathaniel W. Snider was arrested and booked into the Walla Walla County jail on suspicion of second-degree assault.

State patrol drug team makes big pot bust
Washington State Patrol troopers patrolling Highway 97 south of Toppenish stopped the driver of a 2000 Toyota Camry for speeding and confiscated nearly 15 pounds of pot and $7,000 in cash.
The two troopers were working together as part of the Washington State Patrol's Serious Highway Criminal Apprehension Team, or SHCAT.
When a trooper approached the driver, the trained narcotics canine handler and criminal interdiction trooper reportedly smelled an overwhelming odor of marijuana.
Fernando Mendoza, 21 of Santa Maria, Calif., along with his passenger Jose Rosales-Rodriguez, 24, of Visalia, Calif., were booked into the Yakima County jail on suspicion of possessing marijuana with intent to deliver. The cash and car also were seized.
The Washington State Patrol has 10 specially trained troopers in criminal interdiction, including one drug-detecting dog, in the Yakima/Sunnyside area.
Two troopers along with the drug dog are specifically assigned to work as a team when not responding to calls for service or other assigned duties.
Since the beginning of 2009, Yakima/Sunnyside area troopers made 459 drug arrests, 74 of which were felonies, and seized nearly $20,000, along with six vehicles. Troopers work closely with local drug task forces, referring eight for follow-up investigations.
Trick-or treater tips can keep kids safe
Law enforcement officers are hoping little ghost and goblins stay safe as they trick or treat Saturday night.
Police say children should be dressed appropriately, have flashlights or other light sources, trick or treat in groups and stay alert when crossing the street.
Children also should never enter anyone's home or vehicle without their parents' permission, be accompanied by adults and have their candy checked before they eat it.
Parents also should be aware of what homes are safe to approach for trick or treating.
