Twenty-one teens and adult chaperones from a Richland church who were on a mission trip in Honduras when the country's president was ousted in a military coup are back on U.S. soil.
The group from Richland Church of Christ landed safely in New York on Tuesday, according to a blog keeping families updated. The teens and adults were scheduled to fly to Portland and then drive back to the Tri-Cities.
The group left for Honduras on June 26, planning to work for about 11/2 weeks at a church and school in a small northern town. But then the country's president was ousted.
