KID considers creating citizen advisory group

By the Herald staff

The Kennewick Irrigation District may ask citizens to serve on a water rate advisory committee.

KID's board will discuss creating the advisory panel at its meeting today starting at 9 a.m. at the district office, 12 W. Kennewick Ave.

The five-member advisory board would meet once a quarter and have help from a rate consultant "in examining KID's costs for delivering water to various customers," Scott Revell, interim district manager, said in a memo sent to the board.

About $75,000 would be budgeted for hiring the consultant.

KID's committee would represent an array of water users to include urban, rural and farm interests, Revell said.
