Conditions ripe for fires, but cooler temps coming

By the Herald staff

A red flag warning issued Sunday for the region as winds, lightning and thunderstorms move into the region remains in effect until 11 a.m. today.

Forecasters said scattered thunderstorms, lighting and increased winds relative humidities from 8 percent to 10 percent created critical fire weather conditions.

A heat advisory in effect over the weekend ended at 8 p.m. Sunday as cooler weather moved in.
