Richland library still accepting donations

By the Herald staff

There's still time to donate to support the new Richland History Room and attend a donors gala at the newly renovated Richland Public Library.

The Dessert Gala is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the library, 955 Northgate Drive. The event is organized by the Richland Public Library Foundation, a private nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Richland Public Library.

People who already have donated received gala tickets in the mail, but others who would like to make a donation or buy a ticket for $25 can call Ron Kathren at 375-5643 or Kathy Knutson at 946-1747.

The gala will include a dessert bar, live music and guided tours of the remodeled facility, scheduled to open the following week.

Donations of $100 or more will be acknowledged on a donor wall in the history room.

Money raised will go to the library to establish the history room, which will be a repository and archive for documents and books related to the city's history.
