KENNEWICK -- A 24-year-old man is accused of stealing dealer plates from a Kennewick car lot because he couldn't afford his own license plate tabs.
Then, when police tracked him down driving his car, Camron Michael Ganske was allegedly carrying a methamphetamine pipe and a spring-loaded knife.
Ganske, of Kennewick, pleaded innocent to possession of methamphetamine, possession of a dangerous weapon and third-degree possessing stolen property. His trial is set to start Aug. 10.
According to court documents, a dealer license plate was stolen June 16 from a car at JJ's Auto Investments. The business notified police after learning that Ganske had the plate, documents said.
Ganske was seen getting out of his car when officers contacted him. The dealer plate was attached to Ganske's car, court documents said.
The pipe and knife were found in Ganske's pockets when officers searched him after arrest, documents said.
Ganske is in jail on $5,000 bail.
