Moses Lake man shot Sunday dies at Spokane hospital

By Paula Horton, Herald staff writer

A 35-year-old Moses Lake man died at a Spokane hospital, a day after he was shot with a shotgun while standing outside a house, police said.

Juaquin Labato-Sanchez was critically injured when he was shot in the head Sunday night and had been taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center. He died Monday.

Two others, Shane Anthony Zornes, 19, and Noe Pena, 28, were treated and released from Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.

The shooting occurred at 10:45 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing a white vehicle with at least two people inside fire shotguns at the group, police said.

Officers early Monday found the 1996 white Pontiac Trans Am that was reportedly involved just outside city limits. No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Moses Lake police at 766-9230.
