Quality of life forums set in Walla Walla area

By the Herald staff

WALLA WALLA -- Three public forums about the Community Council's 2008 study project are Sept. 22-23 in Walla Walla, Dayton and Milton-Freewater.

The Community Council formed last year to study quality of life issues in the area from Milton-Freewater to Starbuck and Burbank to Dayton.

The council is forming a committee that will analyze its first topic: the educational, mental health and housing stability needs of the region's children.

The forum in Walla Walla will address the study process and introduce the Community Council's recently named executive director at 7 p.m. Monday at the Walla Walla Community College Conference Center, 500 Tausick Way.

Noon sessions also are planned Monday at the Milton-Freewater Public Library, Albee Room, 8 S.W. Eighth Ave., and Sept. 23 at the Dayton Public Library, Delaney Building, 111 S. Third St.

RSVP to the noon sessions by e-mailing Julie@walla wallavitalsigns.org.

Citizens can join the study committee or learn more by e-mailing study@walla wallavitalsigns.org.
